Just do it.

A Day in My Life

Hello!

Today’s post is about what I do in the day to day, and my current organization.

It’s like a backup file, in case I end up drifting into a bad spot again.

Morning

I wake up 30 minutes before a FocusMate session I scheduled last evening. I take a cold shower, and if there is easy food to eat, I’ll eat it. I try to get some sunlight from my balcony to wake up my brain.

The cold shower helps a lot with waking up, same with the sunlight. The FocusMate session forces me to actually do all these things quickly – otherwise I would be late for the session.

While doing the FocusMate session, I organize my day in Obsidian. I have a “daily note”, where I review all of my projects. For each project, I write down tasks. This ensures that no project falls through the cracks.

Here’s the kind of tasks I have:

If I decided to go to sports, I will eat, prepare myself and go practice after the FocusMate session ended.

Having organized my day helps me enjoy sports guilt-free!

After sports, I come home, and I’ll work on low-energy tasks (since the sports made me tired)

Afternoon

I’m going to eat after completing those low-energy tasks.

Usually, my energy has picked up, so after eating, I can start doing harder tasks.

Evening

More work – maybe some administrative stuff and Beeminder tasks that I forgot about. Maybe some house chores such as cleaning the dishes, doing the laundry, etc.

About meals

I have weird food allergies that restrict what I can eat pretty much to fresh stuff, so I have to cook for every meal :(

Thankfully, I’m getting really fast at preparing my meals.

Usually, I can just take some meat and boil it or fry it.

If I want to be fancy, I can peel and cut some potatoes that I’ll boil :)

As you can see, this is a pretty modest way of living, but it works.

Future direction

  1. I want to batch-cook in the morning, or cook enough to have leftovers for the afternoon. This would save a lot of time, since I spend a lot of time eating everyday.
  2. I wish I didn’t have that much administrative stuff to do – I should delegate most of it, but I’d like to save money…
  3. Maybe I should get my groceries delivered?

Let me know!

Let me know what’s your perfect daily routine. Well, once you can, because I didn’t add a contact button yet and I’m a bit lazy about it – after all, I don’t really expect anybody to be reading this blog :-)
