Provider Agnostic Agentic Coding

Anthropic announced that they won’t support third party harnesses, a few weeks ago.

This wasn’t a big deal, until I got hit again by the “stupid Claude” bug again.

I wanted to try another harness, because I suspect that the issue is with sloppy A/B tests rather than the model itself.

So, I tried Pi + Opus. The issue is that Anthropic doesn’t have spare capacity and using Opus times out most of the time. Additionally, it gets billed as additional usage. It’s practically unusable & very expensive.

So, I ditched my Claude subscription and got a z.ai subscription.

Moving forward, I think that I’ll be using a Codex subscription and a z.ai subscription, 50/50.

Maybe I’ll get the 20$ Claude Subscription if I feel like I could really get some help from Opus.

The future is multi-model + a single well-maintained open-source harness.

Not harnesses tied to providers.
